Infant sock as peg leg covers.

My daughter likes to push the dining room chairs around, but they don't slide easy on the tile flooring and they make a shrieking sound sometimes from the pushing and there's a scratch or two as well. They have thin peg legs and Renee's old infant socks fit snuggly around them. They slide easier and no more scratches or squeak sounds! I'm going to try it with the sofa legs next time we move stuff around see how that works.

Duct tape as a quick child proofing fix

When traveling try using duct tape as a quick fix for child proofing a hotel room or grandma's house. You can use it to cover outlets, or to keep plugs in place if you have one that likes to pull them out. Use it to tape shut drawers and cabinets. You can use it to cover the latch on doors (if your kids has a habit of locking themselves in). Cut up a sponge or fold up an old receiving blanket and use it as padding on sharp corners while using duct tape to keep it in place.

Easy fingerfood

When my little one was just learning how to eat fingerfood, I would use a grater and grate piles of apples, zucchini and cucumber for him. I would also use it with some cooked vegetables such as broccoli, once he was old enough to eat those. He would grab little fist-fulls at a time.

Slides and other playground equipment

Slides and other wet playground equipment is easily dried off by dumping handfuls of sand (preferably dry sand) onto it. Then just brush the sand off. Repeat if necessary.

dishwasher door as spill catcher

If your kid makes a mess while pouring juice in a cup try letting them do it on the dishwasher door. Its the perfect height for them and if they spill it just close the door and the mess is gone.

Cool Idea for Broken Crayons

If your kiddo is having a hard time using normal crayons without breaking them, this is a really nifty idea. You basically break a bunch of crayons, put them into a mini muffin pan, and bake them down into nice little shapes that are easier for little ones to hold, and less breakable. They're also really cute.

Now if I could only keep the broken pieces from being in my daughter's stomach, I might have enough to do it. :P

nasal aspirator as squirt toy

I got a million nasal aspirators at my baby shower and don't use them. I came across this article on Parenthacks.com.
I use them as a little squirt toy now. And they're good for rinsing off behind the ear and under the neck (my little one is always looking down at the toys in the tub). I know it sounds a little gross given what they're used for, but they're clean and weren't getting much use other wise.

easy way to pick up slippery foods.

I found this great little tidbit in the It Worked for Me section of October's issue of Parents magazine.

Snack Solution

When my daughter started eating chunkier solid foods, it was difficult for her to pick up slippery things like bananas and peas. Now I dip the food in crushed-up Rice Krispies or Cheerios before she eats, and she can feed herself without dropping anything
